Everything You Need to Know
Buxton School of Performing Arts are an exceptional
company well known in our local area for training young talent to the highest standard. Many of our children go on to work professionally in the performing industry.
Whilst training our children to the highest level we also develop their confidence and social skills. Children train in a safe environment where kindness is encouraged above everything else.
Many children describe BSPA as the place where they can be themselves. Our mission is to help every child who walks through our door to thrive.

The Waters Rise
19th July 2026
This July BSPA will be staging a new play in the Buxton fringe, The Waters Rise, written by BSPA Assistant Director Molly O'Neill. When the waters rise six young people find themselves at the centre of a struggle for survival. But who will survive? Who will fall? And is it ever right to betray your friends?

Frozen

Director
Clare O'Neill
Clare O'Neill entered the world of Opera Singing after training at the Royal Northern College of Music. She has performed with many of the major opera companies in the UK and abroad: including Welsh National Opera; Scottish Opera and Opera North. Her roles include Madam Butterfly (Puccini), Musetta (La Boheme, Puccini) and Zerlina (Don Giovanni, Mozart). Clare moved to Buxton in 1999 and established BSPA where she nutures the next generation of talent.

Assistant Director/Choreographer
Molly O'Neill
Molly O'Neill is a professional performer who was trained at BSPA and is now assistant director. Her Opera roles include: Apparition (Macbeth, Verdi) and Solo Orphan (Orphans of Koombu, Williams). She was recently in How Are You? It's Alan (Partridge) for the BBC.
Tech
Ash Fairs
Ash has had the opportunity to train in tech at BSPA and now works on the tech team for our productions alongside training in music at Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London.
